Start of Insurance Relationship:
The insurance relationship with the insurance fund begins at the start of the seventh full month of employment and the employment contract includes at least 10 hours of work per week. The insurance fee (20 euros/month) is deducted from your salary. The fund orders new Kela cards for insured members, with the marking “Työpaikkakassa 48014” on the back. Cards are delivered to your home address within about two weeks of the insurance relationship starting. If you do not receive a Kela card with the fund’s code, contact the fund. Unpaid Absences:
Insurance relationship remains in force during periods of unpaid leave; however, you are not eligible for the fund’s additional benefits as defined in its rules. An exception applies to insureder persons receiving Kela sickness allowance and, during the first three months of parental leave, to those who receive a salary in addition to the Kela allowance. End of Insurance Relationship:
The insurance relationship ends when employment with HOK-Elanto ends or weekly working hours fall below 10.
