Physiotherapy now reimbursed more extensively

Starting 1 July 2025, SAKA provides broader reimbursement for physiotherapy. For the first four physiotherapy sessions each calendar year, you do not need a referral if the treatment is also eligible for Kela reimbursement. If you use non-contracted providers, you can ask the provider to deduct the Kela reimbursement at the time of payment and then apply for SAKA reimbursement yourself.Reimbursement for follow-up visits is also available when directed by HOK-Elanto´s occupational physiotherapist or with a doctor's referral, as before. The total reimbursement, including the Kela compensation, is 70% of the costs, up to a maximum of 800 euros per calendar year.
