Sickness fund benefits during the summer

When you are a member of the sickness fund and pay for necessary medical treatment yourself, find out if you can receive reimbursement from the fund.
Aava, Oral, Synlab and Terveystalo, as well as nearly all pharmacies, are sickness fund’s contract providers nationwide. Whether you visit Oral in Oulu, Terveystalo in Mikkeli or a pharmacy in Joensuu, you should receive reimbursements directly on site. When paying, present your Kela card with the fund’s identification on the back. Please note Terveystalo’s appointment booking instructions. Doctor’s appointments must take place at a contract provider to be reimbursed by the fund. Only fees for ophthalmology, urology and gynecology specialists are reimbursed regardless of service provider. In all other matters, you may choose the service provider yourself. Client fees incurred through public healthcare services are also reimbursed. When visiting fund’s contract providers, you receive reimbursements as well as agreed benefits on site, and no office fees are charged. If you visit another service provider, request that any possible Kela reimbursement be deducted first, and then apply for the fund’s supplementary reimbursement through Iris. You can use the e-services securely 24/7, wherever you are. Ask about reimbursements and apply for the fund’s supplementary reimbursements via Iris. Ask about Kela benefits and apply for Kela reimbursements through OmaKela. During the holiday period from 15 June to 7 August, the sickness fund’s telephone service is available Mon–Thu from 9 – 12 and Fri from 9 – 11.
