TET & traineeships at HOK-Elanto

We work closely with educational institutions and take on trainees all year round. The TET traineeship period is a great opportunity to experience working life and learn about work in HOK-Elanto.

What is the best way to get a traineeship?

Before contacting us, please ensure you know:

To which part of the degree is the traineeship related, and which parts of the degree would you like to complete during the traineeship? Be ready to share the information with the manager of the store, restaurant etc. and the traineeship workplace instructor.

TET – Job familiarisation

During a traineeship period with us, you can learn about work in workplaces such as stores and restaurants.

During your TET trainee period, you can learn about working life, take care of assignments and experience being a member of a workplace community. TET periods typically last for one or two weeks. You will learn about various professions and gain work experience and information that will help you choose a career. Consider what kind of work or field you would like to learn about, what new things you

Choose a traineeship location based on your own interest and according to your traineeship goals. You can also ask your parents or other friends and family for tips.​

 

What are your strengths? What would you like to improve? Set a small development goal for yourself for your TET period.​

 

Feel free to ask if you do not understand something. The people you work with will know that many things are new for you.​

 

A good attitude is the key! The most important thing in the TET period is to be active and brave. Your skills will improve day by day. Give yourself time.​

 

A successful TET period can also be a good route to summer jobs. Remember to keep the certificate for your TET period safe.​

HOK-Elanto employees can also train for vocational qualifications in addition to work. We work closely with many educational institutions in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and surrounding municipalities, and we welcome trainees to our locations throughout the year.

Comprehensive and vocational school students

Your first job is an important and memorable step into working life. Proper induction training is important so that the young person can have the best possible start to a new job. We provide each employee with thorough induction training and offer a safe working environment and the right tools.

The traineeship can open up an opportunity for further work with us. You can continue to work with us through arrangements such as summer jobs, part-time while studying, or with an apprenticeship during vocational studies.

Internships with a training agreement at HOK-Elanto

Interns are important members of the work community, and during your internship, you will certainly get to do work that corresponds to the goals of your degree. Work under training agreements is unpaid, furthers your studies and prepares you for working life.

You can enquire about internships by contacting the desired store, restaurant etc. directly. You can find our stores, restaurants etc. through the outlet search function. Please keep in mind that your chances of securing an internship position depend on the work situation in the store, restaurant etc. – that is, the availability of individual supervision for the student.

Apprenticeship work in HOK-Elanto

We primarily allow apprenticeship positions for people who are already employed at HOK-Elanto. The apprenticeship is based on an employment contract, so it is paid. If you are interested in working with an apprenticeship, feel free to apply for a job with us and mention in your application that you are interested in an apprenticeship!

We will ensure the success of your apprenticeship by appointing you a workplace instructor or another instructor who will support your learning at work.
